Okay guys,
I left for France on Saturday, but didn't arrive until Sunday. I'm so confused about what day of the week it is! When I finally got a chance and the technology to call Mark, I called his workplace, thinking it was Monday! At least I'm sort of in their timezone. I was smart enough to stay up til 6 am on Friday night/Saturday morning, so I had a chance at sleeping through the flight. Actually, it wasn't hard to do, there's always more stuff I could've gotten done, so I just kept repacking my bags until everything actually fit - which didn't occur successfully until about noon on Saturday!
So I slept on the plane for 6 of the 12 hour-flight. Business class on Air France is no joke. Technically, it isn't 1st class. I saw first class and basically it was the same as what we had, except they had only 6 seats and 1 stewardess exclusively for them. Big deal. We got the lovely hot, moist towels for your hands or face, free wine and champage, as many breakfast/dinner choices as you could handle (meaning you could have 2nds if there were enough), electric reclining seats w/massage that didn't bump you into the person behind you, overhead storage that was really spacious, they took your coats away from you, hung them up and brought them back about 5 minutes before landing, etc. It was dope! I didn't really want to get off the plane. First time I've ever felt that way about a flight.
Then we took a double decker tour bus w/6 sleeping cubbies from France to our tiny little city 4 hours away where we are rehearsing for privacy from the paparazzi. No paparazzi here for sure! There's not much of anything so far. It’s pretty much like we’re stationed in the Pittsburgh of France, so their plan seems to be working. J We are near a very cute train station that I'll take pics of tomorrow. The menu at the hotel restaurant tonight caused a drop in morale for some of us! Have you ever looked at a foreign menu? Where to begin? You can know how to speak french and still get lost when it comes to food.
My French is improving by the minute. I hit the ground and instantly my survival instinct must have pushed my French into overdrive. I can’t wait until a couple weeks from now, I’ll be so good!
