Sacre Coeur Moulin Rouge etc

Me in front of some fountain at the Charles De Gaulle Place circle (I think) on our "Jour Off" as they call it (day off)

Apparently there are clips on youtube.com of our performances here at Bercy Stadium. So much for copyright! I have no idea how Youtube is even legal, but go look it up if you want to see what we've been up to. I've never even seen what our show looks like yet from afar. Florence, my exchange student has a great picture of me up on the video monitors that she's going to give to me. Last night I visited Moulin Rouge at some ridiculous hour of the night after the show. It was nice but it's the only thing on that block worth pausing for. We did Sacre Coeur as well, but it doesn't look great at night, so today I did it again in daytime and it was much more impressive.

Got barraged by a bunch of groupies last night in a pub across from the venue. I went to eat at this restaurant and it took about 20 minutes to get into the place. Flipside of all of this, some lady and her husband got up and gave us seats because it was an honor for them to have us sit in their seats. I had to take pictures with a bazillion people and it was pretty cool until some nut was like, can you call the artist and have him come meet us over here? Okay, right. A) like I have his number, B) if I did, would I use it to invite him to be mobbed in a bar/restaurant C) isn't he smart enough to NOT give out his number for this very reason and D) he just did a show and is tired, do you think he lives at the venue and sleeps there? He's gone!

This doesn't happen all the time, so it was as funny as it was strange. Today in Pigalle, some fabric store owner recognized me and another girl and was very nice and complimentary. Got harassed by an African guy trying to sell us special spiritual twine. After I told him that we didn't have time (very politely) he said that we weren't true children of Africa. Whatever. Pigalle is deep. We also so some people breakdancing in front of the metro with the crowd around. It was so 1980s America that I just had to walk away. I've already seen that movie. It was boring.

I had a deja vu moment a couple of days ago when I was wandering around alone at the Denfert Rochereau metro stop (after visiting the Luxembourg Gardens.) I knew that I had been on this street before on the same side of the street even. And I tried to swat it away until it dawned on me that yes, indeed I probably was on this street more than a decade ago during my 1 week in Paris in high school. Isn't it strange how the human brain works? I can't remember where my purse is, but I can remember a street I visited once for 5 minutes more than 10 years ago!

It's 2am and I'm tired and want to "get to bed early tonight" so this is it. I'll chat again later.

I want you to know that I scoured youtube and there is only one clip when I can only vaguely hear the background singers! There is this guy with curly hair and big white glasses singing over you guys in the foreground! What nerve! ;-)
